“The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1
I’m on week 3 of Rebekah R. Jones’s Original Bible Art Journaling Challenge.
The image I chose was inspired by Aslan in the Chronicles of Narnia. I see this lion as a symbol of Christ, He is regal, fierce, and powerful, yet he’s also tender and loving and wants us to come close to him as just as Lucy did in the novel. The opposite is true with the wicked…who in this scripture we see that they jump at things that aren’t even there. Why are they like that? Well you know when you’ve done something wrong and you’re afraid of getting caught? That’s what the wicked feel like….all the time. But for those who are believers in Christ, we can be bold like Jesus, because of our righteousness in him, and our right standing with God.
I did a short video showing the steps, and took you through my drawing process.
Again, I used Prismacolor colored pencils and micron pens.
If you haven’t joined Rebekah’s challenge yet, I encourage you to do so! She has a new challenge for 2016 called “Heaven is Calling” and her original challenge was last year. I’m doing both, but you can start wherever and whenever you’d like.
